Kirk, M.8.E., chairman of the Dominion Council _of the Bov Scouts’ Association, who was the official representative of the council at the jamboree at Melbourne, said to-day when he landed from the Mahcno that the gathering at Melbourne ha-d been a wonderful success. The New Zealand contingent led by Commissioner Cooksey had hen very popular, their attractive camp in Maori style being the subject of much favourable comment. .

Lord Baden-Powell appeared to have made a wonderful recovery after his illness, and he took a very live interest in all the activities of . .the jamboree. The Chief Scout, who was eagerly looking forward to his visit to New Zealand, was received with remarkable enthusiasm everywhere.
