At the wool sales, 11,616 bales were offered, including 2520 from New Zealand. About 5165 were sold. There was a fair selection and a large attendance, but the Germans were absent. There was good general competition and the bulk was sold. Compared with the July closing, greasy merinos were 7£ to 10 per cent, lower, scoureds 10 to 15 per cent, and crossbreds slipes 5 to 10 per cent, lower. New Zealand slipe half-bred lambs, Belfast, top 13d, average 12 l-Bd.
