TRAMWAY BOARD RATES
LEVIES AT CHRISTCHURCH TOTAL UNDER FARTHING (By Telegraph—rresa Association.l CHRISTCHURCH, May 3. The Christchurch Tramway Board tonight decided to give notice of its intention to levy a general rate of threesixteenths of a penny in the pound on capital' value to produce £29,06/, a special rate to produce £8505. Ai special meeting to levy a rate will he held on May 19. The total rate would be a fraction less than a farthing. The chairman, Mr J. K. Archer, saiidi it might bo found before May 19 that it would not be necessary to levy; a speoial rate.
