The third fire in the business area in Gisborne within eight days occurred shortly before f) o’clock this afternoon, when an outbreak was discovered in a suite of four sample rooms occupied by Mr Phil Pike in Lowe Street. Smart work bv brigadesmen prevented the spread of the flames, the damage being confined mostly to heat and water. Ihe walls of some of the rooms were charred. Fairly large stocks of mercery, cloth, ing, blankets and other goods were damaged to a considerable extent.
