OFFICIAL .CLOSING DAY TRiI'BU'TES AT TIAWERA COURTS At the official closing of the Hawera Lawn Tennis Club’s season on .Saturdav (briefly reported in 'Saturday's “Hawera iStar”) a friendly match was played between teams selected by Messrs G. U. Percy and R. Syme. At the afternoon tea adjournment the president (Mr Syme) briefly addressed members and paid a tribute to the work of the club’s committees, mentioning particularly the match and tea committees. The season had he considered, 'been most successful. The club’s committee iput a god deal ot work into straightening out the financial position and this was not yet completed. • Mr Percy expressed the club s gratitude to Air Syme for the work he -had done In looking after the courts, which were -in remarkably good order.
