LONDON, March 9. Captain Philip. Bailey successfully demonstrated at Croydon a new Robot pilot invention of Mr Pollock Brown, the Scottish engineer responsible for bomb-release devices in war time. The robot costs £l5O. It weighs 251 b. and fits into a metal box the size of a motor car battery. It is placed in front of the joystick. Its secrets consist of gyroscope controlling valves distributing hydraulic pressure to cylinders controlling the rudder and elevators.
Captain Bailey deliberately forced down the nose of his machine and put it from its course. The robot immediately corrected this. It also ensures a gradual glide. Captain Bailey lias now tested it over some 8000 miles and found it always. satisfactory
