FREE MARKETING URGED

DOMINION DAIRY PRODUCE RESTRICTION OPPOSED. COMMUNICATION WITH LONDON (By Telegraph—rress Association.) AUCKLAND, Oct. 18. In furtherance of the movement to oppose the suggested changes in the present system of marketing butter and cheese the New Zealand Dairy Produce Free Marketing Association has been in touch with the London Importers’ Association. The proposals came originally from the Importers’ Association, but they were amended by the New Zealand Dairy Produce Board, which incorporated the restrictions on f.o.b. selling. The Free Marketing Association cabled the text of a unanimous resolution opposing any interference in the freedom of factories to dispose of their produce as they thought fit, which was passed at a meeting held at Auckland on Friday. The Importers’ Association has replied: “Your cablegram has been circulated among all oni- members. As an association we have no dtesire to advocate any regulations which in the opinion of the dairy industry are unaccentable. We draw your attention to the fact that the proposed, regulations were framed in ,0071 junction with the Dairy Board at their request and! with whom, representing the dairy industry. we are carrying on negotiations.”

To obtain Dominion-wide support for its object the Free Marketing Association has called a meeting of representatives of the industry to be held at Wellintgon on November 6.
