NORTH AUCKLAND CRUISE
TRIP BY THE MAE AM A. THREE hundred passengers. (By Telegraph—Press Association) AUCKLAND, Feb." 17 A highly successful pleasure cruise made by the Union Company’s steamer Marama along the North* Auckland coast concluded to-day. The vessel left Auckland on Monday evening with 300 passengers, including visitors from Australia and the South Island She called at Whangaroa, Russell and Great Barrier Island. She returned to Auckland this morning with the touristy singing and cheering on the decks. This afternoon she left oil her usuai run to Sydney. All the passengers were delighted with the experience and presented the captain with a letter voicing appreciation. of’ the company’s enterprise. The cruise was the first of the kind made in northern waters. Sight-seeing trips were arranged for tourists at the ports of call.
