Such action as is “necessary and proper” is to be taken in regard to the importation of butter into Canada, so the Minister of Trade and Commerce informed the House of Commons to-day in reply to a question as to what action would be taken by the Government should there be importations of butter from Australia or elsewhere.

At on earlier stage the Minister of Agriculture, Mr Weir, in replying to a question, .said the. Government had received certain representations against a shipment of butter from New Zealand.
