MANAGER OF RAILWAYS
PROBABLE NEW APPOINTMENT PREVIOUS ASSISTANT (By Telegraph— Press Association.! WELLINGTON, Jan. 28. An announcement is expected shortly that Mv ’G. H. Macklev has been appointed general manager of railways in succession to the late Mr P. G. Roussel I. Mr Mack-ley is acting-general manager, having been previously assistant general manager. The vacancy is likely to he filled hv the promotion of Mr E. Casey, chief mechanical engineer. !
Asked if any action had been taken to appoint a general manager, the Minister of Railways (the R.t. Hon. G. W. Forbes) -said he had had no recommendation from the Railways Board regarding the matter.
