HAWERA TRACK NOTES. (By r “Limited.’’ The tracks were in fine order at the Egmont racecourse on Saturday and some good gallops were performed in preparation for the local meet ing on Wednesday.' • On the plough Aga Ivlian was first to work and hit out nicely' over seven furlongs in 1.30, running his first livein 1.3 1-5. Calamine, Attentive and March Alone, starting from the mile post clapped on the pace at the six furlong peg, and ran home in 1.10 L 5 Chief Line, Hampden and Chiei Link were given light work only. Chief Line is to run on the second day oi the meeting. Davistock and Peschiera both shaped well in a gallop over six furlongs in 1.16}. . , • Miss Cavendish ran home the_ ms, three furlongs of her work in 37}sec. Richfield and Green Linnet put up a good performance over live furlongs running the distance out in I.2}scc. Gren Linnet, with an advantage in tin weights, poked her nose in front at the finish. Both horses went attractively. Golden Hair went comfortably over three furlongs in 38}see. Ten acre (W. Grindlay) and Copey V Weston) gave a good exhibition over a round of the schooling hurdles. Tenaeie was a bit too last for Cope' on the flat but the latter made amends by his great jumping capabilities. ' On the outside of the course proper Awaken was given a work-out over a mile, accomplished in 1.48. Royal Papa and Shillong registered it good half-mile. Shillong finishing a shade in front in 51 L-ssec. Tentcall galloped seven furlongs bv herself, but was not. timed. She finished up her task in good Lady Bent and No Doubt sprinted three ’ furlongs, finishing together in 39&sec> K. Brough’s roan mare sprinted three furlongs in 39 4-ssec. The Tiger ran half a mile m 50-em The New Plymouth horses, Lady Qnex and Cereal, have been respon : ■sible for go del track efforts. Oranni is reported an unlikely istarter at the Hawera meeting.
