KAPONGA
(From Our Own Correspondent). DEATH OF NOTED JERSEY BREEDER. One of the leading Jersey breeders of South Taranaki. Mr. A. J. Dempsey, of Rowan, died yesterday after an illness of some weeks. He experienced a seizure in the course of his farming work and did not recover, his death occurring as the result of a relapse. ilr. Dempsey, had been farming; in the district for many years and was for a year or two in the Waikato. He was a noted Jersey breeder and liis cattle were of the. highest standard and were well known all over the Dominion. Recently a heifer of his -own breeding just failed to achieve: a Dominion record. He was held in the greatest esteem by friends all over the district. The funeral will take place to-mor-row at Kaponga, leaving his late residence, Rowan at 1.30 p.m. Mr. Dempsey is survived by his widow, two sons and one daughter.
