The waterside workers having refused to handle frozen meat, the officers, and crew of the Port Dunedin loaded the first consignment amounting to three trucks into the vessel this evening. The remainder of the meat—l6,000 freight carcases from five different freezing works —will be loaded by the ship’s complement to-morrow and Saturday. The Port Dunedin arrived at Wei-' lington this morning from New Plymouth :(wherc the crew loaded the frozen meat that the waterside workers refused to handle) and commenced loading cutter, cheese, -wool and general cargo, the . waterside workers handling this cargo as usual. When the men were asked to handle frozen meat, however, they declined. Several wharf police were in the vicinity but there was no trouble.

The Port Dunedin is expected to leave Wellington on Saturday for Gisborne and Auckland to complete loading for London.
