TWO WITH COST OF LIVING. MINISTER TO INQUIRE. (By 7>le/?Tapb— Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 17. Advice from the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates that lie intended to go into the matter of reconstituting the- Board of Trade Act, the Commercial • Trusts Act and the Cost of Living Act was received at a meeting to-day of the executive of the Associated Chambers of Commerce. Mr. Coates' said he was pleased to repeat the assurance that in his opinion such clauses as might be considered detrimental to the welfare of the community would be very seriously reviewed. It might weil be that a consolidation of all the enactments complained of, reserving those clauses which are essential, would be the most satisfactory wav of reviewing the matter. "He would be pleased to take up with the Prime Minister at the first suitable opportunity. Mr. Coates regretted that lie was not able, to be .present at the deputation recently received by the Prime Minister on the subject. The importance of giving confidence to the business community. compatible with the interest of the community as a whole was never mor e important than it was to-day.
