RESIGNATION OF PRESIDENT
CRISIS IN MEXICO (United frees Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) MEXICO CITY, Sept. 3. President Pascual Ortiz, Rubio, head of the Mexican Government since 1930, sent his resignation to Congress today., thus bringing the turbulent political crisis to a head after three weeks of rumour and uncertainty. 111-health is understood to be President Rubio’s reason for resigning. • General Abelardo L. L. Rodriguez has been designated by Congress to succeed President Rubio. He will take the oath to-inoiTow.
