LIGHT KEEPER INJURED
MISHAP AT CAPE MARIA. FINGER, BADLY CRUSHED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, July 28. Instructed by wireless to return to Cape Maria, the Government lighthouse steamer Matai there found an assistant lightkeeper named Leighton suffering with an injured finger which had been badly crushed in a winch while he was hauling up the stores which the steamer had left. He was brought to Onehunga and sent to the hospital to-day.
