ST. JOHN’S GYMNASIUM CLUB
COMPLIMENTARY BANQUET. Members of the St. John’s (Hawcfai Gymnasium Club tendered a complimentary banquet last evening to the fathers of the young men associated with the club There was a good attendance. Mr. L. A. Taylor presided. Several toasts were proposed and responded to, interspersed .with musical items anrl community singing. Dr, W. M. Thomson gave a very in structive address on the proper care of the body, which was listened to with much interest and thoroughly enjoyed by the audience. The toast list was as follow: “The King,” “Fathers,” proposed by Mr. C. Dingle and responded to by Mr M. Liddington; “Bovs of St. John’s Club,’ Mr. J. McKee—Mr. D. Ekdahl; “Visiting Clubs,” Mr. B. Watts —Mr M. Shaw; “The Church,” Mr. Gerrand —Mr. Watts. Musical items were
given by Messrs. J. Henson anti D. Lee, Mr. Alister Macßae and Mr L. A. Taylor were the accompanists. A very enjoyable evening was brought to a close by the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”
