WOMAN’S BODY IN PARK
ANOTHER SYDNEY OUTRAGE. SIGNS OF GRIM STRUGGLE. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright.: SYDNEY, July 27. The bodv_of Hilda White, aged 33, Darlinghurst, was found in Centennial Park close to the city to-day with many marks of violence on the head and neck. Subsequent examination by a Government medical officer disclosed » that the victim had been subjected to brutal handling and possibiy outraged before being strangled with a portion of her own underclothing. Miss White is an Aucklander who came to Australia four and a-half years ago with her mother, sister and brother. She attended a picture show last night and was apparently forcibly carried off in a motor-car to the park, where there are many evidences of her •struggles bqfore her death. Every detective available is investigating the case. A young male acquaintance is being questioned already.
