The “Sua” representative learns that Britain is. arranging to pay America, besides the former annuities, a further annual suxn to make up for tlie suspended Hoover-year payments. This would automatically involve the Dominions in the resumption of payments. Meanwhile Britain faces the interim Budget. It is. believed the Government is preparing to effect economies amounting to at least £50,000,000. iNewispapers significantly support the Conservative Parliamentarians who are urging the Government to introduce further rigorous economies. Newspapers anticipate that before the House of Commons session e.nds in Juiy a strong demand for further public economy will be made and, although it is. stated that Government supporters have no desire to embarass the Ministers before the Lausanne and Ottawa conferences, they express hopes that a full statement of the Government’s intentions to effect savings will be made.
