HUNTING

MEET AT NUKUMARU. EiGMOjNT-WANGANUI CLUB. There was a good attendance of hunting enthusiasts from various parts at Saturday’s meet of the EgmontJ Wanganui Hunt Club at Nukumaru, : where they hunted over the property of Mr. E. Parsons. The hunters had ' several good runs and excellent sport was secured, while a large number of spectators also enjoyed the day’s out- • ir *£- . . , 1 At the conclusion of the run the hunt adjourned to the homestead. Dr. Simmons expressed thanks on behalf 1 of the club to Mr. and Mrs. Parsons and family, and to the other owners Messrs. Pearce, Train and Handley on whose property the hounds had run. He asked riders not to press too hard on the hounds, hut when checked to 1 give them a chance to pick up the scent. In response, Mr. Parsons said 1 he was pleased to welcome so many to the hunt and expressed a wish to see more people join as honorary members. It would be helping the club and they would feel that they were members of a sporting body. Among those taking the jumps were the master (Dr. Simmons) on Bahrain, deputy masters. E.
