RAILWAY GUARD KILLED
KNOCKED DOWN IN YARDS. INSTANTANEOUS DEATH. (By Telegraph—Freaa association.) WOODYTLLE, March 5. Thomas H. Beale, 4S years of age, married, a guard on the railways resident at Palmerston North, met with a shocking accident in the AAoodville railway yards about 11 o clock last night. Nobody saw the accident, but it- is believed lie was stepping from Ins own train when a van and two ti ucks, which had been kicked off from another lino, knocked him down. His body was terribly mangled and death must have been instantaneous. Deceased came to the North Island from Dunedin and, before living at Palmerston North, was stationed at Marton.
