Clearer than ever becomes patent the fact that Mr Snowden remains unshaken in his fiscal fastness. Even the most insensitive ear is able to detect, the mumblings of the Dominions in their disappointment. General Hertzog has finally hooked his passage for home on November 7 and has turned a deaf ear to Mr Thomas’ plea to remain a little longer. Mr Forbes, in a speech at a., Middle Temple dinner, to the Imperial Conference delegates, at wliicjh Mr MacDonald was nresent, declared that he thought of . the Imperial Conference in terms of Rugby football combination. There had been a little weakness in “passing” and, it was .tip to Britain to improve. The Dominions asked her: “Will you now pass the hall?”
