(By “Limited.”)

The weather this morning was par-| ticularly bad for training operations on the Egmont course and very little work of importance was performed. Luckily the horses are well forward. Tlie outside of the course proper was open for trainers desirous of doing fast work, but was not, used to much extent. The going after the all-night rain was very heavy. The following gives details ot the fast work executed.

G. 'Jackson, gave Gasfield a sprint over three furlongs and the ungainly looking gelcTmg did well to run home in 41Jsec., handling the going better than anything else that galloped .subsequently. Bonogne and Garrick finished together over half-a-inile traversed in 55 2-ssee,

Chief Link went a. working gallop, but was not at home in the heavy stuff.

Isa took 4osec. to run the last three furlongs, of her work. Joyspear and Gas flapper were given easy exercise on the inside oval. The Warden was hot impressive in his work out over five furlongs, the last half-mile occupying 56)see. Kiosk. Prince Desmond, Green Linnet. Zadariho and Banbridge, all Waverley. candidates, were given strong pace\ work oil the sand track. Silvefmiiie went well in a working gallop over a round, coining, home his last half-mile comfortably in 57)sec. The hurdlers Goblin Market and Tenacre, galloped a mile together. The former handled the going the better and finished in front, the journey occupying over two minutes.

Mendip and Mt. Shannon were allot- 1 ted pace work on the. sand. The two-year-olds Goldfinder and the Thespian filly from O'. Cox’s stable scampered a couple of furlongs down the back smartly, Goldfinder again moving attractively. A big team of Hawera-trained horses is booked to leave by special train on Monday morning to take part in the Waverley meeting, always a popular fixture with Taranaki owners.

J. Fryer has ten booked to make the trip, these being Prince Desmond, Compulsory,. Goblin Market, CRazone, Banbridge, Kiosk, Gowanlea, Kissless, Zndarino and Green Linnet.
