RECEPTION TO MR. AND MRS. WATTS. (From Our Own Correspondent). A reception was extended to Mr. and Mrs. G. Watts, of Man ai a, who recent.v returned' from their honeymoon, in Manaia Oddfellows’ Hall last evening a very large gathering of friends., lie evening was spent in various competitions and dancing to capital music supplied by Messrs. C. Abbott- (piano), F- Clague (violin) and W. Spooner cornet). Mr. and Mrs. Watts were the recipients of a large number of valuable wedding presents. _ During the evening Mr. J. W. Snowdon , on behalf of the gathering, extended! a hearty welcome home to the guests and spoke of the bride and, bridegroom’s- popularity and the esteem in which they are held, and wished them the best of luck, long life and happiness. Mr. J. AY. McDonald made reference to the popularity of the bride, and the esteem in which she was held, also the bridegroom. Mr. J. J. Melclon spoke in reference kq the bride, who was one of the most popular girls in the South Taranaki district. He also spoke of the respect and esteem in which Mr. and Mrs. E-. Lou" parents of the bride, were held. also"'the popularity of the bride and bridegroom, and- wished them e\ei\ prosperity. Mr. Watts in rising to reply, was rreeted with much applause and the muring, of “For They are Jolly Good Fellows.” He returned his heartfelt t-luviks to the various speakers on .behalf of Mrs. Watts and lnmselt lor heir kind expressions of goodwill extended to them and the many handsome presents which they had! received. A dainty supper was provided by tlie o dies and the "evening terminated by sin ring “Auld Lang: Syne” and - For They are Jolly Good Felloows. ; Apologies for absence were received ,-rom Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Wells, Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Bennett, Mr. and Mrs. C Burke, Mr. and Mrs. T Hair Mr. and Mns. A. H. Christie, Mr M. Duggan, J. S. McKay and Jas. Hickev.
