ELTHAM FIRE BOARD
QUARTERLY MEETING. The quarterly meeting of the Eltham Fire Board was held m the Conned Chambers yesterday afternoon, present were Messrs A. Kemp and 1. J Bridger (Eltlmm Borough Council), S' C. Jones and N. Trewby (insurance company). In the absence of tho chairman (Air El. IT. Thomas), Mi Bridger was voted to the chair. Correspondence was received, as loiFrom secretary of the Eire Board conference stating that with the undertaking from the Minister to ccnsader tlie recommendation of last conterence it was not desired that conference be held this year—Received From the secretary of the I ire Board conference forwarding a copy of letter from the Under-Secretary, Department of Internal Affairs relative to superannuation. —Received. From the Under-Secretary, Department of Internal Affairs, forwarding copy of the annual report of the inspector of fire brigades.—Received. From the State Fire Insurance Department, stating that on renewal the insurance on tho fire engine will be re - ducedl to £IOO.— Agreed to. From the Under-Secretary, Department of Internal Affairs, in regard to. model by-laws.—To be considered at next meeting. , The superintendent (Air H .Nuttail) reported that there were no fires during the past quarter. The ordinary fortnightly practices were held regularly. The attendance of the brigade members was excellent. The work done at the practices was very satisfactory and the discipline was excellent. The brigade was at full strength. The water pressure and the fire _plugs were satisfactory.—The report was received. The accounts presented by the secretary (Air R, J. McPherson), amounting to £135 4s 2d. were passed for payment.
