LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP. [ MISS O. KAY THE WINNER. (ijv Teiegrapn — Association..) AV ELLINGTON, Oct. 23. The final of the women's golf ehampkmship resulted in a win for Miss Kay by 3 and 2. A gallery of about 300 followed Miss Kav and Miss Gaisford as they started * off for the second round at J o’clock. This time they commenced [ well with a. half on bogey 4 s at the 19th, but Miss Gaisford struck trouble at the 20th. where her tee shot rested in an unplayable position in the fork of a tree. She had to play her third from the tee and the hole went to Miss Kay in » to 7. They halved the i 21st in 4’s. but Miss Kay got another j hole back at the 22nd. where Miss; Gaisford J s second struck the branches i of a tree and found a bunker near the] green. jYliss Tv ay badly duffed hei second shot, but better work on_ the green gave her the hole m 4 to o. Miss Kav was on the green from the tee at the 23rd (163 yards), while Miss Gaisford found the hunker to the Jett and squared the match by taking the hole in 3 to 4. This reduced Miss Kay’s .load to 2 up, hut Miss Gaisford made a sad mistake when she failed to get up the bank at the short 33rd. Miss Tvav was on and drew 3 mi again by taking the hole in 3 to 4.
