As usual the field for the Wellington Handicap is a high-class one, and many of the acceptors have undeniable chances. Star Stranger has disappointed of late, hut may show improved form .at Trentham. Merry Damon is very well just now, and the EH gar stable .shelters' a dangerous pair in Vertigern and Count Palatine. High Faintin’ ran well enough at Otaki recently to he regarded as a. dangerous candidate. Several of the lighter weights look dangerous, but Count Palatine, My Own and Merry Damon are the trio that should give satisfactory showings.

Arrowzone. alone, went seven in 1.34, the last- half mile taking 53 3-5 sec. The only hurdler jumping was Diana’s Lad who negotiated three fences in faultless style. Gustavo was not galloped, hut was out at exercise.
