INGLEWOOD BEATS ELTHAM. In a low-scoring Thursday competition match, the Inglewood cricket team were successful against Eltham by nine runs on the first innings, time being called before Inglewood could pass Eltham’s total score, then having seven wickets in hand. Eltham batted first,
but could reach only 44, Kerr (11) being the only on© to reach double figures. Le May. bowling a good length ball, took six wickets for 19 and Allen took two for 10.
Inglewood replied with 53, of which Allen compiled 24, the only one to' reach double figures. Parkin in taking five wickets for 18 was easily the most successful of tb© Eltham bowlers. In the second innings Eltham made 64, Parkin, Barker and Edwards each reaching double figures. Allen secured most wickets in taking four tor 22. When time was called Inglewood had made 37 for three wickets, Allen being 26 not out.
