PERSIAN ART
INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Oct. 21. The international character of the loan exhibition of Persian art to be shown in London next January is indicated by the publication of a list of contributing countries. Royal libraries and museums and societies of Persia are sending large numbers of works of art. 'i.essums and private, 'collections in France have offered many unique exhibits. Many ’loans are being made by museums in Germany, the Netherlands, and Sweden.
Brocades and silks, and other textiles are coming from Belgium and Denmark, and famous vases and carpets from Austria. A great hunting carpet from the museum at Milan will he shown, and other Italian museums are lending bronzes, jewellery, ivories, and armour. Carpets, velvet, and other objects are being lent by Spain. Poland. Czecho-Slovakia, and Hungary. The Soviet- Government- also is among ■the contributors. From Egypt illuminated manuscripts are being received, and many beautiful examples of stucco work and mosaics are promised by museums and private collectors in the United States. Most extensive loans are 'being made also from British collections.
