SITTING AT MANAT A. For failure to comply with a maintenance order in favour oi his wife ami two children, being £7O in arrears, Arthur F. Ilawes was sen fenced to one month’s imprisonment, with hard labour, by Mr R. W. Tate, S.M., in the Manaia .Magistrate’s Court this mornmg. • . George E. Clout, for a breach ot Ins prohibition order, was fined £2 with 10s costs. Judgment by default was entered for plaintiffs in the following actions: \y t. P. Wills v. A. Hansen, £3S 10s lid (-costs £4 Is 6d); Commissioner of Taxes v. A. Now, £3 Is 3d (costs' S»). Rota Pine was ordered .to pay A. New the sum of £l4 Is forthwith, in default 10 days’ imprisonment, the warrant to bo suspended so long as £2 per month is paid.
