Major Beasy, the. divisional commander of the Salvation Army, was in Eltham last night, when he conducted a special meeting in the Salvation Army Hall. , . Quite a number of Eltham residents have been laid aside through severe illness, of late. Mr M. McGarrv, at the Mount V tew Hospital, is progressing satisfactorily. Mr C. E. Howe, of Stannerjs Street, is also well on the way to recovery. Mr A. Julian, an old resident, was removed to the Hawera Hospital on Monday last. Mr j. Groves, of the borough road staff, is also confined to his bed through a severe illness.
