The Education Minister, Sir Charles Trevelyan, informed a deputation today that the Government hoped the new Education Bill would be carried this year. Regarding the extension of tlie school age by one year to 15, _ for which the Bill provides, the Minister said this would serve to free perhaps 500,000 children from industry and substitute perhaps 150,000 older people.
