MANAIA BOWLING CLUB
OFFICIAL OPENING

Tlie Manaia Bowling Club held its opening day yesterday. The weather conditions were not too good, but there was a large attendance of visiting bowlers from New Plymouth, West End, Fitzroy, Park, Eltham, Opunake and Hawera Clubs.
The president (Mr N. C. Lines) welcomed Mr Petty, president of the Taranaki Bowling Centre, also all the visiting bowlers, and hoped they would have a pleasant afternoon’s enjoyment. Mr Petty replied on behalf of the visitors and self, and Air A. K. Smart also expressed thanks on behalf of the visitors.
A dainty afternoon tea was provided bv the Indies, which was much appre-c-iaecl at the conclusion of the match. Mr Smart proposed a hearty vote of thanks to the Manaia Club for their hospitality and to the ladies. and cheers were given by the visitors. The green was opened by Airs N. C. Innes throwing the jack.
Results were: President’s rinks, 74; Vice-President’s, 87. Details were as follow. President's rinks being first mentioned :
