FIGHT WITH POLICE
TIME SENTENCE SEQUEL
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 23. For drunkenness, resisting the police and using obscene language, Patrick Byrne, with many previous convictions, was sentenced to six months’ hard labour at Lyttelton this morning. The police said that Byrne resisted so vigorously that ho had to he thrown to the ground and handcuffed and then lifted on to a lorry by three constables.
