RESULTS OF DEADLY TEST 1 . (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright). LONDON, Aug. 26. The “News-Chronicle’s” correspondent- at Berlin says that German chemists declare themselves satisfied with the lessons learnt in a three hours’ “gas bombardment’’ of the suburb of Kaiserslauten, Bavaria, directed by two well-known professors. Poisonous gases of the deadliest kind were used, but a new type of ga.s mask is said to have completely protected firemen and policemen who “defended” the locality.
