RAILWAYS COMMISSION
AUCKLAND SITTING ENDS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, August 5. Having concluded its Auckland sitting the Railways Commission left for Wellington to-night. The commission heard evidence this morning from departmental officers and private individuals. In the afternoon the members inspected the local locomotive running sheds, the new railway station and various booking offices in the city. An inspection of the Hutt locomotive shops will l)o made to-morrow and the commission will spend the rest of the week in Wellington taking evidence from workshops officials and others. It will probably leave for the South" Island next week.
