GRAND OPENING DANCE.

The Maaiutaibi Hall Committee, held its first dance last week, and although the weather proved very unsettled, the function proved a great success, about JO complesi taking the floor. The music was supplied by the Wills Metiody Maurer*. wno left nothing to be desired. The hall was tastefully decorated with multicoloured streamers, and the- duties of Ms.C. were ably carried out bv Mr Uomeiford, Mr Hunt and Mr J. Coucii. The supper was in the capable hands ot Mas C. Barclay, Mrs Goile, Mrs H. Soutlicom be ami Mrs Comcrio rd. There were visitors from Hawera, Patea and surrounding districts, and everyone spoilt a most enjoyable evening, dancing being kept up until the early hours. Extras were played by Mr IV. Sharp, of Hawera. PERSONAL.

Mr A. Wills, who has been in a puivate hospital tor some time, has returned home and intends leaving shortly on. an extended holiday. His many friends will wish him a speedy return tu good health. Miss Campbell has returned from a holiday in New Plymouth. Mrs Henderson is in Kapuni, where she is spending a holiday with her daughter, Mrs Walker. Mrs Cooper lias returned after spending a few days in Meremere. Mr and Mrs W. Baldwin and Mrs Baldwin senr., spent a very detiglitiuL holiday in a motor tour of the north'. Mm alar vie has been spending a weekend in Palmerston North. Miss Betty Hislop returned last week from a holiday spent in the north.
