Poison, M.l’., and the Dannevirke County Council over the payment of Is 2d for a telegram sent “coifieet reply” to request* by Mr Poison for information wiais concluded to-day, when the amount in dispute was received from Mr Poison with the following covering letter to the council’s lady Oivrk: “Your former communication could be forgiven on the ground of ignorance. Out your last is insolent and shows plainly, that the slight put upon me was intended. Let me correct you: Members ot Parliament do not get their telegrams franked, and the stanipage allowance does not pay niy bureau calls. 1 fail to see \Vlrat my salary has to do wistlh .that matter. " You receive a salary as clerk of the Dannevirke County, but you. wouikl certainly resent it if I sent you a ‘collect’ telegram. dealing with county matters.” The county chairman (Mr A.
