PROPOSAL VETOED I.OCU/I.Y. The South Taranaki provincial executive; of the Farmers’ Union was asked by the Dominion executive this morning to express its views upon the sweet peas, the awards should hove wick, Dickie, Hall and Minnie as a committee to go Into the pros and cons of commencing another official newspaper. Mr. H. Thrush considered that, if the union worked in conjunction with the publication of union activities, a better result would be achieved. Mr. W. El. Carter’s opinion was that the union should take two pages in the “exporter,” but that an official newspaper would bo a failure. Mr .H. Hodge remarked that the Taranaki papers, had always given very good publicity to union matters. After a. very brief discussion it was decided to recommend the Dominion executive to take two pages in the “Exporter” for news purposes, and also that the Press Association should be approached to have more extended reports sent out from the executive meetings.
