In the course of an all night sitting of the House of Representatives, Mr W. M. Hughes bitterly attacked the Prime Minister for “breaking his pledges, ignoring the platfo-rm on which he was elected, and betraying, the people.” Mr Hughes said that if the Arbitration Bill passed the second reading he would move in committee an amendment that jit remain in abeyance until the people were consulted.
