PROHIBITION RAID.
MANY ARRESTS IN EAST CHICAGO. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegru.a Copyright.) United Service). NEW YORK, Aug. 14. A hundred and fifty men and women, including the Mayor and chief of police of East Chicago, have been arrested by prohibition agents who raided scores of “speak-easies” along the lake front. Thirty girls were arrested for tending bars, mostly in their parents’ •bootlegging operations. Thousands of gallons of l>eer and alcohol were seized.
