SURGEONS IN CONFERENCE.
PACIFIC NATIONS REPRESENTED "(United Press Association —By Electric Telegrapn Copyright.) (Australian Press Association.) HONOLULU, Aug. 14. Tlie pan-Pacific surgical conference has opened. Nine Australian and two New Zealand delegates are pres- / , ent. The Hawaiian band played the National Anthems of all the countries a— represented while costumed representatives of the Pacific peoples 1 marched in procession carrying flags. Mr Riley Allen, president of the Chamber of Commerce, Mr Wallace Farrington, president of the pan-Paci-fic Union, and Mr Alexander Ford, a director, welcomed the delegates. Dr. Ralph Worrall responded for the Australian College of Surgeons, Dr. W. A. Osborne for tlie branch of the British Medical Association, and Dr. Hardie Neil for New Zealand. The regular sessions will start on Thursday. Delegates hope a perman-1 ent organisation in the Pacific will result from the conference.
