ST. YINCENT DE PAUL.
CONCERT IN AID OF SOCIETY’S : FUNDS. In order to augment the funds for the work of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Mr Joseph High am organised a con ert which was held last night in St, Joseph’s Hall and which proved very successful. The programme was excellent and very varied In 'character. and all performers were given an enthusiastic reception. The items included songs ,by Miss Constance Reilly, Miss Hoddle, Mr. John Burns; recitations by Miss M. Quin and Miss N. Kent; violin solo by Master S Brough ; cornet solo by Mr. R. Swan; saxophone solo by Miss C. Ngatai (with orchestral accompaniment), and two line instrumental numbers by an orchestra conducted by Mr. High am. Miss Rodgers ably acted as aceoinpams.te. * It was unfortunate djhftt two performer were prevented by illness |f;ippi being present, and"a humorous sketch which was to have fceqn ' presented had to he omitted: The result .of the effort will p? a welcome addition to the funds pf the society in aid id its good work
