LONDON, July 16. The Prince of Wales has opened the greatest aeroplane show in the world’s history at Olympia. There are representative exhibits ’from every air power in the world from the baby private machine to the giant triplane engined as land and water machines. LONDON, July 17. The Government has intervened in the cotton crisis and delegates representing the employers’ organisations are attending at the Ministry af Labour to-dav. LONDON, July 16. The new German 60,000-ton liner Bremen has started from Brcnerhaven on its maiden voyage across the Atlantic carrying 1800 passengers. The directors say there is no intention of attacking the Mauretania’s record on the first voyage. VIENNA, July 16. Hugo von Hoffmannstahl, the wellknown Austrian poet who wrote the libretto for Richard Strauss’ opera, “The Rose 'Cavalier,” as .well as other Strauss operas, died in most tragic circumstances to-day on returning from the funeral of his son Franz, who in his early twenties committed suicide by shooting on Saturday because lie was unable to find a congenial job. Hugo’s death is attributed to apopiexv, but suicide is .suspected. LONDON, July 17. .The Paris correspondent of “The Times” states the Soviet’s aeroplane, which is making a goodwill European flight, has arrived at Le .Bourget. Sie has eleven persons aboard, including five Russian journalists. The machine is an, all metal monoplane, (constructed at Moscow, and with three Gnoncrhonetitian engines of 230 horse-power each. The police took extensive precautions to maintain order, but only he smallest crowd witnessed the aero- : plane’s arrival. j
