DUNEDIN FLOODS
STREETS IN BAD CONDITION. BUSINESS PLACES SUFFER. DAMAGE PLACED AT £12,000. (By Telegraph—Press Association.; DUNEDIN, March 21. Aill water has receded from Harbour Terrace, the worst inundated part in the north end. Miies of city streets are in a terrible condition and hundreds of tons of silt will have to be removed. A big problem is the removal of large quantities of boulders carried down the Leith River, which, in the case of a further fresh might cause re-flooding. Tlie damage to stock in city collars- runs to possibly £12,000. All train services have been resumed except the Outram-Otago central. The higher level suburbs are without water owing to fractured mains. This morning vehicles were distributing water from house to house.
