An Inverell message states that after eating their evening meal, three rabbiters, William Ford, aged 32, Patrick Proud foot, aged 28, and Claude Donnelly, aged 24, became violently ill - Ford had made a damper and accidentally used arsenic instead of soda. Proudfoot, although sullering terrible agony, walked three miles to the nearest Township for assistance. Ford died in hospital. Proudfoot is not expected to recover.
