In England and Wales during li/2b the birtn rate was higiier and tlie death lower tiian in tne previous year and tlie ligures for infant mortality were the lowest ever recorded.
The birth rate was 1b.7 per thousand population, which, is 0.1 per thousand above that of 1927. The death rate was 11.7 per thousand, or (J.b lower than tlie previous year, and the iinant death rate was bo per thousand live births.
