WELLINGTON INQUESTS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Jan. 14. An inquest -on Donald Daniel Cam- - eron, aged 34, drover, who was found unconscious near his home at Ngahau- (■ ranga died -early on Monday last, and who died subsequently as the result of head injuries, -was held to-day. Cameron was found outside one of the gates near the house with his left foot caught in the bottom 'rail. It was considered that he had fallen backwards while getting over the gate. The medical evidence stated that the deceased died from a fractured .skull. The -inquest.,was adjourned. At the inquest on Mrs Annie Clarkson, .whose body wag found in. the harbour last Thursday, the verdict was one of suicide ’by drowning.

CORONER’S SUGGESTION TO ENGINE-DRIVERS.

CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 14. At an inquest into the--death of Phillis Irene Benson, victim of the Wee do ns Crossing smash on December 31, a verdict of death from laceration of the brain due to a fractured skull was returned. No blame was attached to anybody. / The coroner suggested that the railway Department might instruct drivers to sound a second blast of the whistle before arriving at a crossing. Trees might be cut back to provide a better view.

The evidence of the driver of the car showed he did not see or hear the train.

DEATH DUE TO INTERNAL HAEMORRHAGE.

DUNEDIN, Jan. 14. At the inquest to-day concerning- the death -of William 'Stanley Beal, before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M., a verdict was returned that death was due to internal haemorrhage caused by a ruptured liver as the result of being accidentally crushed by 1 a motor-ear on which he was working.

MOTOR CAR AND MOTOR CYCLE COLLIDE.

•CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 14.

'Serious injuries were suffered by the two drivers concerned when a motorcar and a motor-cycle met in a head-on collision on the Main North Road last evening. John Hay, a widower, aged 37, was the driver of hte car, 'and William Withers, of iSwannanoa, aged IS, rode the motor-cycle. A slight rain was falling at the time of the mishap. Both men were taken to hospital, Withers with a fractured right leg and Hay with an injury ‘to his right eye. Hay underwent .an operation to-dav which necessitated the removal of the eye.

The motor-cycle was damaged .great-, ly and the car also was knocked about, although not to the same extent.
