PERSONAL ITEMS.
Mr W. Williams, of -Gueymouth, is on a visit to Hawera, and is staying at tine- residence of (his sister, Mrs P. Crees-y senior, of Vogel Street.
After a motor tour of about three weeks in the North Auckland district through the Helensville area, Mr and Mrs J. W. J. Harding,, of Hawera, returned to town, on Saturday.
The 'Hon. W. B. Taverner has been entertained by members and supporters of the' United Party at Dunedin and presented ■with a gold cigarette case, states a Press Association message. Mr A. Bayley, M.R.C.V.S., who has been practising as a veterinary surgeon in Hawera for some seven years has accepted a position with the Government and will Be stationed at Wanganui. With Mrs Bayley and family he will leave for his new location on Wednesday. Motions of sympathy with the irelatives of the late Mr T. H. Jenkins, of Eltham, whose death occurred on Friday, and with the Rev. and Mrs W. J. Ox brow, of Hastings, formerly of Hawera-, who suffered bereavement in die death of two sons by drowning last week, were passed at the evening service of the Salvation Army at Hawera last evening, the congregation -standing in silence.
