GHASTLY EVIDENCE OF STRUGGLE.
TWO MEN IBADLY HURT.

Copyright-) [Australian Press Association.) ■Received 11.5 a.m. to-day. NEWCASTLE, Jan. 12. Two seafaring men named William McQuirk, aged 29, and John. Mcßwan, aged 37, were found by the police in. a room hearing ghastly injuries, the marks of which they will carry all their lives. The police say that a woman 'watched a deadly razor duel in which the men were wounded. Blood streamed from slashes in their heads and bodies. Both victims refused to give the police any information. Twentyone stitches were inserted in a wound on McQuirk’s face and McEwan’s nostril was either bitten or cut clean off. The men were covered from head to foot with blood, which also bespattered the room. Both arc in a serious condition.
